Is it a coincidence or something else? How do you relate music and sound? Visually?
If it’s me collaborating with visual artists to create interactive installations or writing projection-based laptop orchestra works, I feel like for a while I have been trying involve more visuals in my work.
Today I was hit with a one-two punch.
I was asked to collaborate in a sonic work set in complete darkness. And take on a visually impaired student in computer music composition. And while most can say music is not at all visual, I could give enough to examples music it not. And what about talking about and explaining sound to the blind?
Both of these will be an awesome challenge.
