I was navigating through Hulu today and I accidentally clicked on this short film. After it started, I thought, ‘why not, just watch it?’.
It’s worth the 17-some minutes.

I’ve been working really hard lately and I don’t feel like I’ve gotten anywhere. The semester is going to start Tuesday and I’m almost finished with my syllabus, but there are billion other things to do. And classes start on my birthday. I’ll be turning 28. I’ve been trying to stay true to my philosophy of balance: giving enough time for each part of my Mental-Emotional-Physical me. What else could I do?

My masters recital was on Halloween. It went very well. I premiered my string quartet, which I feel is the largest work so far. I’m so glad that I’ve finally done with this phase and moving on to applying for schools and writing my thesis. This past month has been horrendously busy, and i’m looking forward to getting some sleep, working out, and taking time for myself. I think had 4 occasions last month were i was up over 24 hours.

I’ve renewed my vision on leaving Baton Rouge and moving with my life, getting into a doctoral program and getting better at everything. I’ve learned several things about myself in the past couple weeks- things that have changed since I’ve been here. I think since I’m looking forward to leaving, I’m becoming more independent. It’s time to think about myself for a while.
