Adventures in Wonderland
Today I signed up to write for a 12-movement piece by 12 different composers for the 12 chapters of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, where each composer will try to convey the text in their own respective movements. I’m actually excited about this. It’s being performed by the New Music Ensemble in two weeks. The instrumentation is interesting: 2 violins, 2 flutes, 2 clarinets, 1 alto sax, 1 tuba, 1 horn, piano, and 2 percussionists. It’s a short time to work, but it should be fun.
I haven’t found out which chapter I am yet, but I sort of have in mind how I want it to sound. The instrumention makes it a little more fun.
hey when is this performance?
Dec 8th. 2:30pm. School of Music auditorium.
[…] I’ve finished writing my chapter of Alice in Wonderland. Here’s a cheap midi realization of the music. It’s 2:14 minutes. Slightly over the limit, but I’m sure they’ll forgive me, being the finale. Alice.mp3. Posted to Me, Music […]

My first ‘performance’ for this semester is going to be December 8th as part of the Alice in Wonderland collaboration. I’m still waiting for the persons in this town that enjoy both the recreational and creative music I do. (Unfortunately in Gainesville, I didn’t many like that either.) […]
